I feel the guilt as well, and I'm not on all that much. But it is a habit with me, which started when ds stopped giving up his nap 2.5 years ago. I'd allow him to watch an hour of tv, because despite my attempts at 'rest time' there was no way he was going to rest quietly in his room. He thought he was being punished! He still doesn't get it, and he's 5.5!
So I'd let him watch an hour of tv while I got on the computer. But I still feel guilty! Thankfully he's been sleeping later this summer (sometimes until 9:00!) and I can do my computing then. But, sheepishly, I admit that when he watches his shows, I'm back on again.
Now that he will be in K I'm hoping I can use that time to surf a bit while he's in school. Oh had to edit to add that my laptop has been broken since Dec. and we've yet to get it fixed. I used to do a lot more computing at night after he was in bed on the laptop so that is another reason (excuse).
