As for products in stores - I could not afford to feed my family on my budget if I was buying "green" and organic products. Until the prices come down I will continue to bargain shop.

This is me too!!! So far my family is healthy as can be eating regular stuff, and I have surrvived 43 years eating "regular" food without any health problem.

I wonder about the "hormone free" labeling, too- what I really want is hormone and antibiotic free.

IMO, Organic is a luxury most people can't afford. I would not pay more for computer paper period. 10% recycled paper in computer paper is a gimmick IMO. I live in Oregon. Replanting is big business. Wood is a renewable resource. Trees are replanted.

Regarding food, when I find organic foods at Grocery Outlet (a regional discount grocery store chain), I buy it. When I find organic produce on sale for not much more than I pay for regular, I buy it. I buy organic milk only when it is marked down to about 1/2 its regular price (my Fred Meyer store does that when it is near its sell-by date.)

Otherwise, it is too expensive for a middle income family like mine.
