I am officially hooked on making organic jams and jellies. I made my first batch tonight of raspberry (picked from my yard) freezer jam. It looks and smells so yummy. I can't wait till tomorrow when it is completely set so I can indulge. I see part of a Christmas basket gift item in the making. Hope all my family/friends likes jam.

That is so great! Isn't it addicting?! There is nothing like making it yourself and think of all the good memories the kids will have growing up and making their own jam

Jelly is the best and it is so easy! We had an 8th grade boy living with us a few years back and I had him help me make jelly one summer. After he went home with his mom he showed her how to make jelly. He's about to enter his junior year in high school, he's popular and great at sports, but what most people don't know about him, he's makes his own jelly!

We have Concord grapes growing in the backyard. Every few years I use them to make Concord grape jam (I don't bother to clarify the juice enough to make jelly). It is so rich and intense in flavor it will almost spin your head off! The store bought stuff pales in comparison.

The years I don't use the grapes for jam, I offer them on freecycle to whomever wants to do the picking.

Wow, that sounds like alot of fun. Where did you get the recipe/instructions to make the jams? I would love to try this. I have got lots of space to grow stuff just a strange climate. The summer is sweltering and the winter is freezing. The inbetween is like heaven though
