I was trying to come up with a list of things you could BUY that help you go green. I thought of:
  • compact flourescent lightbulbs
  • cloth grocery bags

can anyone else help add to my list?

For me it's more about what not to buy. Getting back to the old way of doing things, waisting less, throwing away less, using what you already have.

Solar light tubes give light in rooms that don't normally get a lot, without any electricity.
ceiling fans help keep a room cooler (or warmer), by not having to set your a/c or heat has high as you normal would have to.
Certain plants can keep the air in your house clean, without having to buy an air filter.

Reuse or take cloth bag to the grocery store and every store. I also buy from the bulk bin. Pasta, beans, candy, flax seeks and many other items can be purchased cheaper this way and you don't get the extra packaging.
