I just happened to find this website through internet research for green cleaners and I want to thank all of you for such wonderful suggestions and ideas.

But I also felt I needed to reply to a post from someone who used lyson spray in the kitty litterbox. A few years ago a friend of my mother lost her cat, according to her vet, due to her husband's use of a disinfectant spray in the litterbox. Her cat had constant urinary tract issues and ended up dying because - again this is according to her veterinarian - of the use of these toxic chemicals in the litterbox.

I'm not a vet, so I can't tell you whether this really was the cause or not, but I am a cat, dog, all animal-lover, so felt compelled to pass this info on.

Again, thank you everyone for the amazing cleaning tips! Now, I'm going to get started scrubbing (green).

I see several references to washing soda, fels naptha soap, and castille soap. What are these and where do you get them?

My husband has TERRIBLE feet. His feet are peely, pitted, stinky, and he has terrible nasty toenails which I'm sure is due to a fungus. I heard something one time about using brewed tea as a foot soak and it'll kill the virus. Does anyone know the specifics of it? He's tried athletes foot spray but says that it burns.

The best way I have found to clean ring around the tub is half a lemon and baking soda.

Roll the lemon on the counter and then cut it in half. Wet the tub a little and sprinkle baking soda on it and then use half of the lemon squeezing slightly to get the juice flowing. Rub it in a circular motion on the baking soda. You will be amazed at how fast this works.

This also works on the kitchen counters and gets rid of the stains on them.

Good ideas. How do these work with hard water? I'm really looking forward to having less cleaners and those that can be used to do multi task around the house.

Does anyone have a non-toxic formula that would clean glass stove tops?

My husband's cousin referred me to The Green Mop. I've made several of their homemade cleaning solutions and I like what I've made so far.

I sprinkle baking soda over the area and wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. Squeeze all the excess water out so you don't water the baking soda down too much. I have a cloth that I only use for the stove so it only has baking soda on it. If I have a heavy spill, I use the plastic scrapper from pampered chef that came with my baking stone.

Glass stove tops - I wipe mine over at the end of the night with vinegar comes up brillant, I also use the baking soda if I have a stain that won't budge.

I used baking soda to clean up the baked-on spaghetti sauce, then shined it up with vinegar. My glass stove top looks like new! And cost me practically nothing! Thanks so much, gals!!
