I second that... Really if you eat right, and are getting everything your body needs through good food, there is no need for vitamins.... But cause most people dont eat right, they have to take suppliments...

I take Rainbow Light Women's Nutritional System. It's 6 pills a day which is insane but I feel so much better when I take them and it has vitex which supports reproductive health. My cycle is a little off when I'm not on them..but when I am it's regular as can be. I also notice my nails and hair are a lot better. Anyway, they're around $17 for a 40 day supply through Vitacost. My husband takes Rainbow Light Men's One. He takes it because he works out a lot and follows a very low fat/high protein diet so he needs it mainly for extra Zinc.

Personally, I think even if we did eat as healthy as we could we'd still be missing nutrients b/c our soil is missing nutrients. Granted, you probably don't need a mega vitamin like I take (and sometimes I wonder if I even need it) but a simple multi-vitamin without all the additives would probably help fill in the gaps of the vitamins and minerals you're missing. Try going to a health food store. I worked at one part-time for a while and the people there are usually full of information. If they try to sell you anything crazy run out of there. A reputable health food store will usually try to get you to take a good multi for a month or so before they recommend anything else. Generally, that's all people needed...and sleep.

My children and I take Cod Liver Oil for omega 3s and Vitamin D (we use Carlson, as it's tested for metals) and we also take a probiotic daily. We used to buy at the local health food store, but it is literally twice as much to buy these products there compared to Vitacost.com! If you buy supplements on a regular basis, it would definitely pay to check them or other online vitamin companies out!

We use Shaklee and have done so for years. We also use their kids multi and the citra burst and protein shake for kids. Shaklee is more expensive but you get what you pay for with vitamins. In my opinion, if you are buying a vitamin a WalMart you are wasting your money.

I too am taking Shaklee vitamins and am even selling them and their products because I am so impressed with the company. Right now I am taking their multi-vitamin and alfalfa and I am not having the sinus problems I have had which have been really bad! Studies have been done that people who take Shaklee vitamins are healthier than those who take other brands or none at all. I really don't think you can get all that you need just from food.

Dh and I take a multi vitamin I buy in Sam's Club - their brand I believe, along with 1000 mg of Vitamin C during the winter daily.

My boys all take a kids multivitamin from Sam's each day.
