Hmmmm...... I wonder if I could make an outfit for the dog with little pockets all over it to hold mothballs

We are treating our dog daily with bath, powder and spray and she still gets them every freakin day.

You'd do a lot better and save a lot of money in the long run if you'd buy Advantage or Frontline, we use advantage and they literally get NO fleas as long as you keep up with it every month. Go to 1800petmeds.com, that's where we get ours, for about $40-50 for a three month supply at a time, as opposed to wasting time bathing and powdering and spraying every day. It is totally a much better option if you can wing it. Every flea we ever end up with bites me, so I always know before DH if we have any, and we haven't had ANY AT ALL since we started using the topical treatment. I swear by it!

i use on my dog the advantage and i vacuum everyday. not just to keep fleas away but i hate animal hair on the carpet . we have had the dog 1 1/2 years and never a flea , as long as you use monthly advantage or something just like that you apply to there neck you should be flea free oh also if your husband has a grass spreader like to put down dry fertilizer you can have him pick up some stuff at walmart called "sevin" it kills fleas ticks etc in your grass where the animal picks up the bug in the 1st place

Well... we spent the most awful amount of money on the Advantage to get it right then and there and applied it Tuesday night, but I have to say... we checked her last night and didn't see anything. Hopfully it's done the trick. I plan to make sure she has another application of it, for sure in 30 days. Hopfully we won't need to buy it again, but if we do, then I'll know in advance enough to buy it online and save a bunch. Stuffs expesive, but it did work like a dream! Hopfully she'll stop being so grumpy and keeping to herself. She gets REALLY moody after baths or too much grooming from us. She's been pouting for 2 days that she had to sit still for a minute and have something on her and won't even go near us hardly.

Just be careful with the mothballs. My dogs got into them one evening when we weren't home and I had to call poison control and make them throw them back up. You would have thought the smell would make them run the other way

I've used salt & borax mixture with huge success for years and never had a problem with any of my animals. Just mix it into the carpet with a broom and it'll dry out any fleas/eggs in the carpet. I normally left it on for a day or so then vacuumed it up.

Also if you vacuum, immediately remove the bag (or dump the canister outside) because the fleas can still live in there. My parents used to put moth balls in the bags but I'm not sure if it was to dry out potential fleas or to help with the doggy smell.
