(Okay, I just posted this about 2 min. ago, but it's not showing up now. If it does later, I'll delete one of the two posts.)

Anyways, this is in response to SuperSavinMommy's question over on the "Living With Ed" thread regarding solar-powered holiday lights. At the site below, they sell solar-powered holiday lights, rechargeable battery-operated candles, and other solar-powered lawn decorations. (Just search on the left to see products in other catagories, including Halloween.) They have 100 ct., colored strings of Christmas lights for $79.99, which at first seems a bit steep, but the price includes the solar panel. (DH seems to think this is a good price!) They also have solar-powered Christmas wreaths, one in the shape of a peace sign!!

(I will add more links to this post as I find them!)

That does seem a bit steep...how large is the solar pannel? I'll have to go to the site and show DH...His company was planning on selling them for $42 with a small solar pannel that connects to like 8 strings...the strands he has been working on have 500 per string- each individual string would sell for $15...I am SURE the price of these solar holiday lights will go down in a year or two, because they'll have more on the market to compete with.

I just bought a bunch of solar powered candle lights for my windows. They're LED, so they last a long time on one set of batteries and no cords! I love that they go on and off automatically! They're totally worth it!

I'd love to do this is the price dropped way down. Last year I was very excited to finally, after 6 years of wanting, to get 4 boxes of net lights for $2 each after the 90% off markdown at Walmart. I feel too guilty payng full price for lights, even if they last a long time.

I wish that would work here. Unfortunately, we don't get enough light in the dead of winter to run on solar. It is a cool idea, though.
