What is the best tip anyone has ever given you that really made your life easier?

Mine came from my mother, who told me not to travel with young children during the holidays. She always says that when you have small children, it is much easier on them and you if you stay home and let visitors come to you. Her advice is to be welcoming and gracious.... at home.

I am so thankful we started that tradition when my ds was born. My kids aren't easy travelers, and I can't imagine having to pack them up for the holidays.

Everyone told my husband and me that we needed to leave our last job -- there were so right! So he left and I was laid off but it still was the best thing that could happen to us.

I think the best advice I got was to not worry about what everyone else thinks, do what is best for you and your family!
