STUFF, STUFF, STUFF here too!!!

Over the years, we have donated and given away SO much junk and it still looks so cluttered around here!

I told hubby that if you get rid of most of the junk that we don't need, the time spent on daily cleaning chores are cut waaaay down. This leaves more time for the fun things!!!

Why doesn't my family get it???

I am always decluttering a drawer here or there, but I swear as soon as it's emptyed, the family fills it back up again!!! Ughhhhhhh

I too am dreading the holidays gift giving. My 4 kids don't need more things.

STUFF!!!!

Twice a year I clean out closets, drawers, toys, basically everything and get rid of one or two truck-beds full of stuff!!! Yet, it seems like it never helps. I am (or try to be) a very organized person. Everything has a place and it had better stay in it! But it never works. The kids closets (walk-in mind you) are packed, drawers hardly close, toys boxes haven't been able to shut in years, and it never gets better. We started a rule that when you get a new toy or movie, you get rid of one. And we stick to it pretty good, but I gosh it seems like stuff just multiplies it self or something!

Gosh, I don't have stuff and have plenty of time. (But then, the youngsters are grown).

I don't enjoy any acquiring. On rare occasions, I find myself in a store, think something is neat and promptly talk myself out of it. When we are out and about I enjoy myself without it ever occurring to me to get anything.

At home, I sometimes attempt something that needs something that I don't have. Again I usually talk myself out of even trying because I have gotten along just fine without so far. Sometimes I go so far as to put an item on a list that I keep like a grocery list. Oftentimes, it still doesn't get purchased.

Definately stuff, mostly clothes. With 4 DDs someone is always outgrowing something. I pack up and store what can be handed down which only works for the two youngest. I always have baskets of outgrown clothes. I hate to donate it so I mark it and put it out for rummage sale that I participate in at least 3x a year. Then I use that money to buy moreclothes, Xmas gifts and pay bills. I really wish I had a weekend without kids and DH so that I can catch up.

Stuff I guess. I don't feel like it's taking over my life, but I could always use less of it. And time is definitely not an issue.

As for the Christmas Stuff Extravaganza, every year we (us and my siblings) make wishlists and post them on our blogs with links to Amazon wishlists if applicable.

This will be our first Christmas with our daughter, who has enough clothes and toys to last another year. We'll see how it goes.
