When I lived in Toronto one of the grocery store chains had on-line shopping, and they would deliver to your home. I think it was about 7 or 8 dollars but living in a hectic part of the country where you felt all you did was commute,,,it was WELL worth it. I always made sure I stocked up on all the heavy stuff (poor driver)
We've since moved and I'm a SAHM so I don't think I would do it now unless it was an emergency. It sure was nice then though.

Wow... there are some times it would be totally worth it... not every week, but soemtimes... and think how nice it would be for the elderly, or those that have trouble getting around.

Oh, how I wish I lived closer to Harris Teeter! I would do this in a heartbeat! It's so hard to load up Tommy and all of his equipment, then the other boys too. I could just send DH on the way home from work to pick up. This would work if he still worked near their store, but we're nowhere near one of their stores now.

Absolutely I would especially if I had a baby ... I bet people save the $5 easily by not buying stuff they end up buying but weren't planning on buying. I would do it for sure for that rate (but not for too much more).

What happened to doing your best with what you have?
My son is a hyper (healthy) 3yr old boy w/ toys 24/7 on his mind and I could never do this.
It's practically "wasting" five bucks.
I guess I'm just an old-fashioned cheapskate.

To be honest...I would never do that. Why in the world would I pay someone 5 bucks just to walk down the isles of the store to get my groceries? No thanks...I'd much rather do it myself...I think that is outrageous. That is just my opinion. Save your 5 bucks for something way more important than that.

We don't have this here where I live, but I'd use it if I was too busy. I think it's a great idea since there are people who have panic attacks in public, elderly folks, or people who are handicapped.

I totally agree! It's a huge bargain. Think of the time you would save! Grocery shopping takes a least an hour and I value my time at way higher than $5.00 an hour. I use an online grocery delivery service and delivery is $8.00 plus the groceries are marked up. I would happy drive to pick up my items for five bucks. I would kill for that to be available in my area and have actually emailed both stores in my area to suggest they add that service in the past few months. I guess I don't see why you wouldn't do it.

I'd LOVE to have that option sometimes! I'd go to the fruit stand for my produce and drive by and pick up my other groceries! I don't view it as wasting the money, because grocery shopping does take at least an hour for me with my one child,, even if I take a teenybopper with me to help, it doesn't cut down much.. and I'm TERRIBLE about buying things that aren't on the list *way more than 5 bucks worth!* So, yep, I'd definitely do it occasionally.

I enjoy shopping. Don't mind taking the 3 year old. Shopping, church and the library is the only time she really gets out of the house. But there are occassions where it would be helpful. If she was sick and my hubby had a very busy work week, and I really needed groceries. I think for that, it is a decent price. No way would I pay for it every week.
