So my husband keeps harping on the fact that global climate change is inevitable and therefore not acccelerated by the supposed greenhouse gasses or the melting polar caps.

Sudden climate changes in the recent geological record

This article is long, but well researched and interesting. I thought it might be good for a debate. I will post my opinion farther down.

Okay, my opinion. While my husband has found NUMEROUS arguments for the natural progression of global climate change, I'm still on the fence. All the evidence points to the fact that climate change is actually moving SLOWER now than in times past.

However, pollution of other resources on the planet are still pressing. If we fill our land with garbage, what will we do then? What kind of world are we going to be living in ? Our kids? Our kids kids? The point is, our planet doesn't need us. It will be around loooong after humans are gone. It's not that the climate may or may not be changing, it's that our quality will change. Ours and the other living things here.

As I try to make our house greener, no pun intended, I'm thinking more about our future quality of life. I'm trying to ignore propaganda because I think that what is happening in the media lately is misleading. It' up to each of us to do research and find the truth for ourselves. To figure out what kind of sacrifice we're willing to make for the future.

What are you willing to do? What is the least and most we should do?

I am way to tired to read all of that today. I will get to it later too. I have to say, I agree with you on ignoring most of the propoganda. I will do what I can for the invirornment. Of course, I don't believe the earth is millions of years old, and I know the world will end some day. But that is another discussion.

I've listened to a couple of scientists arguing against global warming or at least saying global warming being the result of mankind. One of these scientist, and I do not remember his name, is probably the best predictor of hurricanes, or at least that is what he was introduced as. But very smart people with a lot more knowledge than what I have! And maybe they are correct. But I just cannot believe that all the stuff man has done, in the past 100 years alone, cannot be contributed to our current climate change. Automobiles alone have to be the most dirty thing there is!

I know my attempts are small and probably in the overall picture do very little when you compare them to companies and countries that trash our environment. My one hope is to leave my children with the ability to care for themselves. I go a garden, I can, I'd like to raise some animals -- maybe it is my North Idaho survivalist coming out in me! We are a little odd in this part of the world. But I do worry about the future and what is in store for my kids.

I also know my attempts are not perfect! I can give you a long list of things I do "wrong" environmentally. And with that said, I need to go change a disposable diaper because I just can't do the cloth ones!

Mankind isn't nearly the contributor that the alarmists claim.

That said, making personal choices that keep our own home and community cleaner and healthier just makes sense.

Countries and taxpayers that can't even feed their own should not be expected to bankroll ineffective and expensive "solutions".
