Okay so I made the vote earlier for "real tree", but now I have to change my vote. We are getting a fake tree this year. Now, dont get me wrong - I totally LOVE real trees, but my FIL (our landlord) is all anal retentive about the carpet getting ruined, so he told my MIL to just have us get a fake one (no thought to the fact that we dont HAVE the money to get it!) just as they did this year. there are so many reasons that i am happy for a fake tree - i cant stand the needles and the watering it (i always forget) and i hate putting the lights on and then taking them off.. this tree my MIL got yesterday looks like a REAL TREE. I am just going to buy a few pine candles, or hang some pine sachets in the tree like ornaments. I would like some real pine garland as well, so i will have to hunt that down. even with our tradition, where are living right now it makes it such a pain. and with dh changing jobs right before christmas and me being so stinkin tired as of late, this is PERFECT for us. i am really excited.

we also go to a local christmas tree farm and cut our own tree. they've told us that they replant three trees for every one cut each year. not too shabby. we then leave it our backyard til springtime (on its side) so that it provides shelter for the critters whom the dogs decide to let into the yard. (usually its very close to the fence so they can escape.)
Merry Christmas!
