Did anyone see this episode yesterday on the woman with compulsive hoarding disorder? Oprah's cameras went insider her home, and let me tell you it was the worst case of hoarding I've seen. Peter Walsh and a team of 100 spent 8 weeks with this woman decluttering her home. The conclusion airs today. I can't wait to see it!

I saw it and was shocked!!! I can't wait to see the rest of it either! It's hard to imagine living like that.

I watched some of it. I'm hoping to watch part 2 today.

We tried to get my MIL to watch but she is in denial. Her home isn't that bad but it is awful. She gets very angry if you say anything about it. Her husband lets her get away with it.

I think my mom and dh's dad are both borderline hoarders. It's no wonder dh and I are neat freaks.

My word that was SO sad. She said she was hoarding as a way to fill her 'losses' that she had in a short time. And it was kinda scary as they uncovered FOOD that was under the piles, that had molded and and was just gross. Then she tried to justify keeping everything, I felt so sorry for her. She said she couldn't have friends over, and her grandchildren had never been over because she couldn't have anyone over anymore.

I watched it and it made me get up and clean WHILE watching it
I clean/vacumn/wipe down/laundry, etc daily and that is my biggest fear, just the thought makes my skin crawl!

I didn't see the show I went to Oprah.com. She needs help not just her house uncluttered. I hope that they are going to make sure she gets the help she needs.

we very recently moved and I uncluttered like crazy before I moved. I had so many things that I bought on clearance at sales......my closets, drawers everything was stuffed to the brim. I went into a purging mind set....and decided that I was not taking all the crap with me to my new home. i gave it all away....regardless of whether it was something I could sell or gift away. My new home is soo much nicer....my closets are nice and neat...my drawers open and close with ease. All our clothes fit properly......I'm so much happier now.....than I have ever been with my home (at least with the clutter situation). I never want to go back to being a hoarder.
