This year I am trying to fill up the stockings with things my kids will enjoy... and use up.

At Target this morning I found Hot Wheel toothbrushes- toothbrushes with actual cars on top. What fun! Perfect for little boy stockings. For dd I found some cute fairy underwear and a Hello Kitty toothbrush. She will be thrilled. For ds, I also got new socks- a little boring, but he needs them and anything new always has a little glamour.

Any other ideas?

Santa always brings my boys toothbrushes and toothpaste! They also get a package of underwear (this still excites them)!

I don't have girls, but consumable items my nieces would love include nail polish, hair bands, brush, lip gloss (or any makeup they're allowed)... hmmm...

I can't really think of anything for boys...

Candy, apples and oranges...

I don't know, I'm not much help, am I?

My son loves popcorn so I'm putting some in his stocking. I am also putting in a toothbrush.

I've done Micky D's gift certificates and this year I will probably buy ds one of those tooth tunes toothbrushes. He's been wanting that for awhile.

I always try to put a couple of things in there that they don't get to have very often, but love...like a bottle of Gatorade, package of beef jerky, things that take up a lot of space....

Other ideas...
Batteries for any of the toys they got
Gum
Apple/orange
their favorite magazine
homeade coupons
school supplies they might need replenished
socks
undies

My parents do stockings for their adult children, and we always get Nutella, macadamia nuts, and small cans of smoked oysters. No, they aren't for combining :P But they are yummy treats we don't splurge on for ourselves. We have also been lucky to get homemade chocolates from a local chocolatier--yum.

Fruit snacks
juice boxes
cereal puffs for babies
socks
diapers (I put diapers in my baby's stocking)
bubbles
crayons
markers

Those are my ideas so far.

There are a lot more things for girls, but for a teenage boy, it is pretty easy. Of course there is the traditional apple and orange in the toe. Some candy. A candy cane or two sticking out of the top. I get my son his favorite deoderant, body spray, and some hair gel or hairspray. I got some wash out hair dye for one of my daughters. And a couple of character spin tooth brushes for the little one. I love stuffing the stockings.

Chapstick or lotion is good for those dry winter months.
