Some of our coffee mugs have lots of scratches (probably from stirring with a spoon) on the inside. They have a silvery appearance. Are these ok to use or should we toss them? I tried to google but couldn't find any info.

They're probably fine...and you can clean off the marks with "Barkeeper's Friend".

It's ok if they're just surface scratches, but if the coating is off and the ceramic is exposed, I'd toss them.

I have some Pfaltzgraff (sp?) mugs/plates/ the whole set and they have silvery markings on them...when I asked about it at the Pfaltzgraff store they had a "special" cleaner I could use and said the marking were exactly what you ssupected, marks from silverware...they even said the better the silverware you have the more marks you will get...I say...another reason to get the cheap stuff! (although my sets are not anywhere near expensize so I am not sure that idea will work either!)

Good luck!
