I've actually thought a lot about this. I made a lot of changes in 2007 and they are going very well...becoming habits.

I think in 2008 I need to also, as others have mentioned, bring home less plastic. Its ridiculously difficult to do though. I'm always trying to figure out how to reuse all those plastic containers (sour cream, cottage cheese, etc) before they hit the landfill. Also, I'm going to work on consuming less overall. (which will help with all the other goals I've made so far too!). This summer I'll expand my garden and hopefully start a compost pile. I think a lot about all my food scraps and waste. I can do better this year. I'm also going to try to eat and buy more local.

I just bought a couple of the reusable Wal-Mart bags and I have been trying to remember to use them. I am going to BE using them this year and if I forget I will be trying to carry my purchase in my hands. That should help me remember.

I am also going to all cloth napkins, no paper plates, and cutting down on the amount of stuff I buy. I am planning on making our garden a little larger this year. I had excellent luck this year so I will try something bigger this year. Also I am working on my electric bill. It gets very high in the summer so I am looking for ways to reduce it as well.
