I have mine all picked out! I'm cutting back on my plastic intake. I know it won't happen completely and I really won't have a way to measure it but I figure instead of buying soap in the plastic bottle, I'll buy it in bar which usually comes wrapped in paper. Or taking my water bottle with me. Though I'm going to have to get a new bottle as my darling husband took my Nalgene to work and it has some strange mold in it now days that I can't get to come out.

Anyone else?

yup! I am going to try to switch to cloth dipes and am throwing out my plastic bottles for baby and getting glass next weekend. I figure I dont want my grandkids living in the middle of trash and well....other nasty stuff. so any bit I can do I am willing to try.

I'd love to be more green. I'm horrible. Maybe I should make a list for this, while I'm ammending my current resolution list.
I'd love to stop using so many plastic water bottles (or buying new ones anywya, we can reuse the old ones until we get a reusable container). Although we did just find out our city recycles, so we've been better at that for the past three months.
I'd love to use rain water to water our summer garden. At least to use ever so often when it rains, in combination with our hose.
I'm trying to not buy many pre-packaged foods. We buy fresh produce and meats, and really not too many convenience foods. I've even cut back my canned food (veggies mostly) intake.
Hmmm, I'm thinking I'll start reading this area of MS more often, I know I could learn a ton.

It's not really a "new years" resolution, more like a life resolution!! I have been trying to be more green since about August, when I came out of my new baby haze.

I have plenty of cloth shopping bags now and I am using them all the time. Whenever possible, I try not to take the bags for produce.

I recycle every thing I can, which here is a LOT! WE have a great program here. We can return cans here for deposit money, which I ALWAYS do. Never will understand why some people don't....

I have watered down a couple of my cleaners; dish soap worked great at 50/50 mix, laundry soap I wouldn't mix 50/50 again. More like 75/25. It's just TOO watery this way. But, it will last longer!

I m making my own baby food so I'm not buying all those little jars. I never did switch to cloth diapers, but I'm not ALL green yet!

I haven't started using vinegar yet, but mostly because I had stocked up on so many cleaners at Sam's about a year ago, and I STILL have not used them up! I swear I do clean!

A couple things I want to do:
This one is health/green. I want to start cooking more vegetarian for the family. This i tricky because my husband loves his meat and wants to buy a freezer so we can buy a SIDE OF BEEF!!! I want the freezer, but more to stock up on chicken breast and stuff when it's on sale. My freezer right now is SMALL. Usually by the time I get my groceries in it, it's stuffed to the top, which isn't good. Plus, I can buy bigger packages of stuff with a freezer=less packaging!

Mostly it's about consiousness all over of what I am buying, eating, using etc. I want to be better informed, but not an alarmist. I think the biggest environmental threat isn't global warming, it's our ever growing consumption of THINGS. Especially in smaller packages! Our trash will eat us alive! JMHO

Reduce is my resolution. Reduction in all areas, clothes, toys, foods, paper, everything!

I'm with melsb on the plastic reduction. I've been carrying my own bags to the store for a few years. I also switched to bar soap. My next challenge is to get away from the applesuace, yogurt & pudding cups. I don't mind making pudding but I haven't thought of a storage solution. My husband takes applesauce & pudding in his lunch. He won't take an apple, I've tried. We consume Activia, Yo Baby & Gogurt.

I had to look at your location to see where you were that you could have your windows open this time of year! I would have frost bite or an extremely high heating bill

I'm bumping this one up!

I'm still working on my plastic issues. I think I do well until we purchase anything with My Little Pony ... have you ever seen the amount of plastic that comes with this? And my second question? Who puts these toys in these packages? They must have their masters in engineering! It is insane!

I'm going to stop bringing plastic bags home! I need to remember to bring my cloth bags! I always forget. If it's not too hard to carry, I tell them I don't need a bag. When I'm at the mall and I make a purchase, I put everything else I buy into the same bag as my original purchase provided it's big enough. It really works well and at least I'm not bringing home more bags. I do use the bags I have for our small trash cans throughout the house, although that is just as wasteful too. Our world is going to be full of plastic bags if we don't stop or at least cut down! I wonder how many they go through in a day.

It'll be hard to work on my husband though when he comes home from Home Depot or any gardening place. They don't have paper bags. He's getting better at the grocery though!
