I guess my kids are not getting that many new toys that I really worry about it.

My kids are at Grandmas and I am cleaning and making room for new toys. The main gift this year is a Wii. We asked for games for that. Does anyone else have a problem keeping puzzles, and board games in one place? Mine end up all over my house and it drives me batty!

I pared down our board games, and the ones left are stored on a shelf in the linen closet. Puzzles sometimes wind up being thrown away because the pieces disappear. The puzzles we do have are stored in a basket under the twins' bed. Actually, a good bit of the twins' toys are stored in "drawer"-type baskets under their bunkbeds.

I have gone through and put away the baby-baby toys....will sell at an upcoming garage sale this spring. I have also been going through clothes for both of them too...the smallest sizes will be ready for the garage sale, thrown away, or donated.

Some of the toys that are still age appropriate get put away for a while...when i pull them out again, you would swear the kids think they are new!! Makes them interesting again.

I went through the toy box this weekend. I threw away all the toys that were broken and not worth giving away. The toys that the boys don't play with/are baby toys but are in good enough condition, I donated to our community action. I put some shelves up in our entertainment center for the big toys and what remained in the toy box only filled about 1/4 of it, lol. I pretty much know everything they are getting from family members so I know it will be filled up again by December 26. So that's that!

I just started this last year but it really seemed to work and my little one is ready to do it again....Christmas morning after he opens his presents from Santa, we go through all his old toys and he decides what he wants to get rid of since he has new toys. We bag the toys up and take them to the Salvation Army on the way to my sister's house. He likes giving his toys to kids that do not have anything and he doesn't feel like I am making him do anything because he decides what is going. And yes, surprisingly enough he gets rid of a lot of toys!!!!

I try to clean out the play room about twice a year. It is time to do it again and I am dreading it. When I clean it out my kids think I am the worst mom ever! I am so awful because I get rid of toys! Oh no! I want to get rid of alot this time. I am SOOOOOOO sick of the tubs not being able to close and toys still on the floor. Toys are not allowed in the bedrooms, only the playroom. In there we have two toy boxes, which mostly hold stuffed animals and other misc toys that have no where else to go. Then we have three tubs, one for baby dolls, one for barbies and one for cars. Then a small tub for spiderman. We have two closets. One holds the games, which yes half of the peices are missing!!! The other holds the dress up stuff, rc cars, legos and my daughters bigger my little pony stuff and littlest pet shop stuff. Ugh! My kids have WAY too many toys!

Normally we don't do toys for Christmas or birthdays. We do games, acitivies, that kind of thing. But this year we decided to do toys. The kids are getting older and need older type toys. Plus since we don't do toys so much of what they do have is missing peices and broken and such.
