For the past few years I've been cleaning with vinegar and baking soda. No bleach, no Lysol, no Pledge - NOTHING like that. Well, I'd just come to the point where I figured if I'm going to clean, it's going to SMELL like I've cleaned!! Plus, if I can buy something that smells good AND is not harmful to the environment - I'M THERE!!
So, I went to Target yesterday and picked up 3 Method brand cleaners:
1. All Purpose Surface Cleaner (French Lavender scent)
2. Window Wash Glass + Surface Cleaner (Mint scent)
3. Tub + Tile Soap Scum + Stain Remover (Eucalyptus Mint scent)
I'd used the Tub + Tile cleaner before, and LOVED IT!!
What's funny is...I couldn't WAIT to get home and start cleaning!! I flew right in and cleaned my bathroom from top to bottom, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results, but I thought, "Now, who else in the world is SO EXCITED over dang cleaning solutions??"
Just thought I'd share....
Does this make me "less green"?????

Uh oh, does this mean no more vinegar?? I just decided to jump on the vinegar train! Will you stop using it all together?? I'm still trying to get rid of my MILLIONS of cleaners under my cabinet so I can try out the vinegar! I'm hoping the vinegar will help with the green, plus simplify things... should I give up or is it worth trying anyway?

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was giving up vinegar completely. I will still use it for certain things, like cleaning my kitchen countertops, greasy dishes, etc...And once these cleaners are gone, I'll probably completety go back to my vinegar again. (I don't think I can afford to keep buying green cleaners all the time.) Vinegar is still the best grease-cutter around, plus it's the safest and most economical cleaner out there. So, all I'm saying is that I decided to spoil myself (a Christmas present to myself, if you will...) and buy some "green cleaners" for a change. Target also had 7th generation, but I wasn't sure if it was scented. And that's what I wanted, something scented.
Now, you can scent homemade, all-purpose cleaners with essential oils, but I've never bought any, nor would I know where to buy any in my town.
It was just such a big deal for me to get to GO to "town" in the first place. I thought since I had the money, I'd treat myself. And to answer your question, vinegar is DEFINATELY worth trying!! Just try spraying some on your greasy dishes once, then wipe with a sudsy sponge...You'll be AMAZED at the grease-cutting power in that stuff!! Besides that, vinegar is a disinfectant. I will NOT use any of the sprays I got to clean off my countertops. I will still use vinegar for that. I'm not about to make double work for myself by buying something that has to be RINSED OFF after you wipe with it. I just don't see the point there... So, yeah!! Definatley jump on the vinegar train with us!! I'm not giving it up, outright.

At the Target I went to, they had peppermint, holly berry, and vanilla-scented hand soaps. Didn't see the dish soaps...but then again, my DD wasn't "cooperating" with my wanting to shop, so I didn't get to browse around too long.
What is the Cinnamon Bark?? Is that a cleaner? Or a dish soap?
I'll have to look around more next time.

Essential oils are pretty expensive around here, and I have tried to scent my vinegar and water solution, but it just smells like orange vinegar or lavendar vinegar, lol. I have made a little 2oz spray bottle that I got from the walmart travel size bin with water and essential oil drops. Every morning I go around and spray it, but I haven't figured out how to keep the scent going. I need to figure something else out, I guess.

Do you mean that you use it as a room spray? I think I've heard that you can set out a dish full of cotton balls dipped in essential oils and that will scent your room (chemical-free!!) for quite some time.
I'm a real "smell-conscious" person. I love having "smells" going on around my house if I can. Just not with all the chemicals...
Especially around the holidays, the best way I've found to both "smell up my house" (without chemicals) AND add moisture to the air, is keeping a pot of simmering "whatever" going on the stove. I like to put orange peels, lemon peels, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, whole cloves, or whatever spice in the water and just simmer it. Kills two birds with one stone!!

It is funny that you are treating yourself to smell good cleaners I also like the mint tub & tile cleaner but don't like to spend the extra money for it. My oldest complains about the vinegar smell but it doesn't last long. I resorted to buying 2 cinnamon plug-ins that have recyclable refill containers. I just need it to smell good in here... especially since I have a dog.

My "oldest" complains about the vinager smell as well -- but that's my husband, not my daughter!
But seriously LuvMySoldier makes a great point. Sometimes you need to break out of your routine and try something different! And if that something makes your bathroom smell yummy enough to eat, cleans it as well and is still good for the environment good for you!
