Does being green ever get in the way of your attempts to declutter?

It totally does with me and my house. A lot of it is I'm not well organzied to begin with. And I hate to throw things out. My list can go on and on. I might reuse it someday. I can re-cycle it. I donate it. I can give it as a gift. On and on and on. And the end result is I have a lot of crap just sitting around and I don't know what to do with it!

Any suggestions?

Green does not get in my way!

I use the Clean Sweep method by making piles under these categories: Keep, Toss, Donate. I also have my own category which is Consignment. Except for girls clothing, most things go in the Donate pile. I donate all my stuff to the Salvation Army. We don't have much clutter but I go through toys & clothing often.

Has anyone seen the episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon sneaks into Penny's apartment and organizes it. That is what I dream about doing to my MIL.

If you donate or recycle (including sending it to the recycle center) you are still being Green. So go through all your stuff (right after Christmas) take old toys, clothes, electronics and donate them, send the rest that is not absolute "trash" to the recycle center and you should be good!!!

I have! I love that show... that one was especially funny! I have no problems decluttering and staying green. It does bother me to just throw it out, so I tend to donate and give away most of the things we no longer want or need. I figure it gets a second life that way.
