I am currently reading this awesome book by Peter Walsh, the Clean Sweep guy.

If you are having trouble getting started, getting motivated or staying on the wagon, I highly recommend you find a copy of this book.

I'd heard it was good- but I have to say that it's even better than I was expecting. He truly has his finger on the clutter pulse of America- why it happens and how you can help yourself.

I give it two thumbs up

i LOVE Peter Walsh. I have this book too. What I love about him is he's not just another organizer, but he really talks about WHY people are clutterbugs and the emotional aspect of keeping things around.

Yes- he doesn't just say "all right! It all goes!" He makes you think about what you have and why you have it. He also makes you picture the life you *want to have* and work with that goal in mind. No wonder he gets such good results!

I LOVE Peter Walsh and Clean Sweep!! I also like Clean House but it lacks the Peter Walsh of it all LOL! I'm going to see if our library has his book I'd like to read it.

It sounds like a great read!

I always love going thru my stuff to declutter. I wonder what it is about having unneeded things in cabinets and drawers that makes me uncomfortable? Does anyone else feel almost smothered or suffocated by the amount of their stuff even if it's not in plain sight and hidden out of sight. Just that fact that I have stuff I haven't touched in several years makes me want to clear it out. What do you think that is? It's as if it's lurking in the back of my mind or something.

Remember if your library doesn't have the book, you can request it through inter-library loan. You'll have to wait a little bit (I've waited between 7-14 days) but they'll get it from another library and (if they're like my library) give you an extended borrowing time on it. DH and I use this all the time - we have a little tiny public library that doesn't carry very many titles.

I love Peter Walsh too! I do have an obsession with those house shows on TLC (although I have to admit that I am tired of watching the one flip show with Armando and his brother-they annoy me!)! I really liked the episode he did with Oprah about decluttering houses, I hope she does another episode on that (not only does it help you to get rid of stuff but also ways to organize!).
