I saw some of this in the "Mom and Pop" grocery store several weeks ago, and forgot to post about it. I wrote down everything on the bottle (and have since misplaced it... ) but I believe it said, non-toxic, biodegradable, etc. and was selling for $2.08 for a small 8oz. bottle. I remember it saying to use a VERY TINY amount per wash load.

My Mom used to use this on her nurses' uniforms...Worked great!!

It actually adds just a touch of blue dye to the fabric. When fabrics, especially white ones, start to become slightly discolored as a result of stains from body oils, etc. that can't be completely removed from the fibers, the blue dye offsets the discoloration and makes them look whiter.

I've been using bluing forever, just not for washing my clothes haha I've always used it for bathing horses for shows, bit of bluing diluted to scrub yellow stains off white horses....and yes, if you don't follow the directions you will end up with blue hair, ahem, I mean a blue cast on whatever you were washing
