Grr.... We recently had to stay in a hotel room overnight, and for $30 my dh upgraded to a suite (because he snores so loudly the only way anyone can sleep in a hotel is if he sleeps in another room).

Well- that hotel suite sure showed me up! It was small but so perfect in every way. The little kitchenette had granite counter tops. The small sitting room had a matching sofa and recliner and beautiful gas burning fireplace. The bedroom was simple- tan and white, but so beautifully done! There was a tiled jacuzzi tub and the room even had a dang bay window.

It was nicer than any apartment I have ever lived in. I told dh I was ready to move in.
It was small, but so bright and clean, and everything was polished and in its place.

Now I have "seen the other side" , and I have a new vision for what I am aiming for at home. Darn hotel room- it's going to make a lot of extra work for me. There was so much peace in that little uncluttered space. I want that at my house- so, another round of purging.

And this was at a Hampton Inn- not some mega-bucks hotel. If the Hampton Inn can do it, I'm determined that I can do it, too.

Hey Great!

A lot of people don't think that they could live in a couple of rooms. But as you see, IF it is uncluttered and peaceful, a few useful features go a long way. Adding things that are nice or neat but are used infrequently just busys up the visual landscape, raises the stress level and increases cleaning tasks.

Less is best!

LOL. I probably would've felt the same way. I've been looking at unfinished drywall in the living room for almost a year. My husband doesn't understand why it bothers me. He goes to work all day while I'm here looking at this unfinished space.. hopefully we will have the time & money to do it soon! Maybe I should stay in a hotel for decorating inspiration

Just tell him you are staying in a hotel until he gets the drywall done!
