We buy our milk in bags. I just found out today that it's a Canadian thing, done to decrease waste. (4 liters is about 1 gallon). Now I'm trying to figure out how others buy their milk. What does yours look like?

Here is what our milk looks like. People have containers the bag sits in and it pours easily. Very little waste.

I would totally buy my milk in a bag. We have gallon jugs, they take up a huge part of my trash and a huge part of our landfill I'm sure!

We bought our milk in Europe in bags very often...they don't have it in our area here in the states though.

In Canada .. not sure since when but for sure since I was little in the early-mid 1970s.

I'm surprised it hasn't caught on elsewhere.

I usually buy it in a gallon jug- but there is a gas station here called Kwik Trip and they sell it in bag form. I see alot of people buying it- my gf swears it is creamier- she went to school in Canada for a year and swears it is better from a bag. I haven't crossed over yet- but maybe I will try it. I can never find organic or hormone free milk in bags though. I am in MN.

Well I live in Minnesota and I always buy my milk in bags. They go in a pitcher just like yours (only white) It is much cheaper this way. Kwik Trip sells them.

they tried it here in MN a while back. It never took off. It was before I was married so that was over 14 yrs ago. I am thinking I was in high school which was the early 80's.

Just read the other 2 MN moms comments. have no idea where a kwik trip is by me but maybe when the kids are older. I worry about spilling.

The only time I saw milk in a bag was when I went to Nippa Hut in Minden Ontario. They also had the 'holders' you set the milk in. I would also buy mine in a bag if I could.

OT, this Nippa Hut had what was called, "bug juice", a concentrated berry liquid that you'd add water to to make a juice like beverage. I used to love that 'bug juice'!

By the way this was all over 20 years ago, so milk has been in bags in Canada for a long time.
