Or- what is your biggest obstacle to living more simply?

I feel like cooking is my biggest challenge. I want to cook good, easy, healthy, simple meals at home. Shouldn't be too hard... yet I struggle with this continually. Dd's food allergies take a lot of things off the menu, and then what she likes and will eat are not the things ds likes and will eat. It seems like someone is unhappy at every meal. And then I want to buy organic food, but the prices are depressing me. I feel like my grocery bill is up to 50% more than it should be... but maybe food prices have just been creeping up in general without me realizing.

How about you?

my biggest obstacle is the family....i want to serve a meatless meal once or twice a week to help with the grocery bill...will they try it? nope....got to have meat every night for them...will not try anything new... and the male is a big packrat( and the kids are too but he is worse) so i have a ton of stuff here that has not been used in years( i am a reformed packrat..got tired of it all and gave 95% of my stuff away that was sitting around gathering dust)...i try to make it all simpler and fight tooth and nail each step and get nowhere fast....anyone got ideas for packrats?

Mine is a catch 22! We are in the process of moving- so for the most part- everything is packed up expect for the basic necessities, the things we need/use on a daily basis. I am happy with the amount of things in my home right now- takes 20 minutes to clean the entire house and only have to do 2 laods of laundry a week. The sad part is when we finally move- I will have to go through all those boxes I already packed up and am having fun living without!

We have a tiny 2-bedroom house and there are 4 of us! Since our attic has no heat or electricity at this time, we all live on the first floor. Until we can make a bedroom out of the attic (goal - 2 years from now), my son's clothes will continue to be stored under our bed and all his toys are in his sister's room. Decluttering has been a necessity, but we're loving it!

Mine is decluttering! I am still trying to get it under control. We live in a little 2 bedroom house and we have so much stuff. Slowly but surely I am making progress, but if I let my guard down then I start to drown in it.

Mine seems to be multi-tasking lately. I have/want to do so much here but cannot seem to get it all done -- maybe it's because I spend my free time on the computer!!! I use to be so good at multi-tasking - then I had 3 kids!

Mine seems to be other people. I know I say I don't care what other people think, but I am so sick of being told that we are too busy. I feel that way once in a while (doesn't everyone?) but basically, I think our life is very simple. I am being told it can't be since the kids and I are very involved in activites, we don't eat organic or even homemade (what is not simple about a hamburger helper?)

Living in the city. I grew up country and was more used to making do with what we have than always having the option to buy something right away if it's needed. Life on the farm was just simpler, in a sense (certainly not physically!!)
