We have a family of 6 with a 3300 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 90yr old farmhouse. That doesn't include our basement, but you can't really count that because...well...it's dank . The rooms are LARGE but because of how it's built we are still on top of each other all the time ~ It's not well utilized space. In the city we had 2100 sq ft (3 beds) and I felt like we had WAAAYYY more room!

we have 5 people and a doberman pincher we have 2000 sq ft of finished living space and 500 unfinished(the basement is not finishable we have washer dryer freezer and storage is all) i think its a good size i would be willing to take a smaller house with a better layout. i think its all in the layout.

we have 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms kitchen dinning living room open area kind of loft like upstairs thats a play room and a den off our bedroom and a large pantry(i'm actually storing my piano in there and still have a wall of shelving and can walk thru to the window) my boys share a room so a smaller house with a better layout would work for us.

We purchased a 2650 sq. ft. home REALLY far away from our work... It's beautiful, though. When we purchased it, it was only my husband and I (we had no kids yet) and we did it as an investment and to get our foot in the door to owning real estate. We drove 90 miles ONE WAY EVERYDAY to go to work. We got sooo tired of doing that after a year, that we rented the property and we came to RENT an apartment closer to where we work.

I currently live in a 1450 sq ft apt and its way to small. The house we bought is 2700 sq ft and I think its just the right size the bedrooms are kind of small but they all have walk in closets so that helps. The new house has 4 bdrms 2 1/5 baths a big bounus room and then a small room that I am gonna finish and make an office. Its not huge by any means but if we can not be on top of each other with a family of 5 its worth it to me. I dont knock small houses but I can not see how anyone with my size family could live in anything smaller.

We are a family of 4 and 1 dog who do live in a small house. Its doable and I like the smaller mortgage that comes with it! Someday we would love to add on a family room when the boys are bigger!

We have a 3800 sq ft house (including the finished basement), for our family of 5. 4 BR, 3.5 BA,, we also have a small room (can't call it a BR since there's no windows or closets) in the basement we use as a toy room. I wouldn't say it's perfect for us we'd like something a little bigger. Right now our two older boys (6 and 4) share a room, and the baby has his, and currently we have DH's grandfather living with us, so he has the spare room, but when we have family over (which is pretty much 2-3 times a month) we're always short on space and end up bringing the baby in our room (which I don't like doing b/c it messes up his sleeping habits)

It is 1050 Sq. Ft.
As of right now it has 3 bedrooms (The first bedroom is huge!, the 2nd has the extra bath and the 3rd bedroom is really small... makes a great office), a kitchen/dining room, 2 bath rooms (although one is very small with just a shower and no tub), a living room, and an indoor laundry room. It has a great linen closet, pantry, and closet space. We have two garages (one attached and one detached), and a good sized fenced in yard.
We have two toy poodles, one toddler, and a baby on the way.

It is a small home but the layout makes it seem like there is more space. Two of the three rooms could have two sets of bunkbeds in them and still have plenty of room for the kids to play. We plan to turn the attached garage into a bedroom and a family room since the living room is on the small side and we never use the garage. That will give us a little more space. We like our small house and love our small payments.

My only complaint that I have is that it was built in the 80's and it looks like it from the inside. Brown and orange wall board everywhere! We plan to fix that this summer though.

We have a total of 1880 sq. ft. of finished living space. Our home has 3 bedrooms (was 4, but turned one into a dining room/office), 2 full baths, kitchen, kitchen eating area, livingroom, family room, playroom, furnace room, 1 full storage room plus a half storage room at the other end of the house, laundry room. Also, we have a full size attic that is finished, that I didn't include in the sq ft. listed above.
For us (4 people and a cat) this size house is just right, we have looked at bigger, newer houses and the rooms are too small in them to fit our furniture and older bigger houses would require too much redoing, so our current home is just right for us.

We are a family of four in about a 1200 sq ft house. We have two bedrooms, a dining room (which is now a bedroom), kitchen, living room, utility room and one bath. The only complaints I have is I really could us another bathroom and a little more closet space. I really use our attic a lot, I just make sure it is organized and things I don't use much go up there. If it weren't for the attic I don't think we would be able to live here sainly.
