I was wondering what size your houses were and how many people are in your family. We are a family of 5 and live in a 2000 sq ft house. Around here, that is smaller than the norm. I think we could actually live with a smaller house!
It seems that homebuilders are building these huge homes and no one seems to think they can live in a "normal" size house anymore. What do you think?

There are three of us (and a big dog) in a 1200 square foot home.

Honestly I am not sure of the sq footage. But we are a family of six and our home is a five bedroom, two bath. The home we are hoping to buy is a three bedroom two bath. We are trying to down size. Our girls share a bedroom and our boys share a bedroom (our two extra rooms right now are a playroom and an office). I like the kids sharing. No reason for a huge house.

My hubby says a smaller home is more cozy and a large home just seems empty.

We are a family of 5 and our house is 2000 sqft, we moved from a 1090sqft house about 2 years ago and we think this house is perfect. Everyone has room and with a front and back living room mom and dad can get away from the kids and watch OUR shows.

I'm guessing our home is around 1500 including the basement. We have 3 bedrooms with 1 1/2 baths. The bedrooms are all very small. I like having a smaller home and a smaller mortgage payment. I don't know how our neighboors across the road afford their huge homes.

We are a family of 5 and have a 3000 sq ft home. We love it. It is just perfect for everyone to have their own space. I wouldn't want anything bigger though!! Too much to clean!!

We have a 2500 sq ft house. There are 3 of us and 2 large dogs...hopefully another kid in the next year. This house is too big for us. Some of the rooms don't even have furniture. Plus it is just more space for me to have to clean. I think 2000 sq ft would be a good size for us.

1900 sq feet. Family of 4. If you drove by and looked though it would seem much smaller but that is including our basement. We plan to remodel a bit. Our bedrooms are in the basement and I hate that - though there are windows in each of the rooms ever in case of fire. I want all of us above ground.
