I'm with you And we live close to a city. My family has just always maintained their cars well and driven them as long as possible. Having a "new car" has never been a part of my life. We've always seen cars as transportation, not as an accessory, which so many people in my area do. I am THRILLED when when find a used car in good condition we can afford with under 100k, there's a lot of life left in that sucker!

well last fall dh's 1994 satrurn ls died it had 375,000 miles on it!!

we now have
2000 saturn ls it has 82,000(we got it used)
1997 grand caravan 265,000 (we will need to replace this year door locks window ect are starting to all fail so not worth putting the money into)

we drive our cars till they drop they usually rust out before they die lol!!! but not having a car payment is well worth driving a slightly older car.

Volvo S40 10K miles. I really have no idea of the SUV's, must be less than 20K - we use it only in the weekends and it's only 2 years since we bought it.
