2006 Chrysler T&C - !3,500
2001 Mitsubishi Galant - 87,000
We plan on driving these cars until they die. Our previous van was a 1998 Mercury Villager with over 150,000 on it that was tragically totalled when a stupid moron drunk driver hit us . Prior to the mitsubishi dh had a Mercedes with over 200,000 miles on it that we sold when ds #1 was born because his carseat wouldn't fit in the back of the car correctly.

Tahoe ~ DH's company owned vehicle ~ no idea how many miles
'98 Saturn SL@ ~ my vehicle 188,888 as of yesterday. I love this car! I still get 30 mpg highway, which is good, because I commute 90 miles roundtrip every day.

'02 van with 82,000
'97 sunfire with 120,000
We have thougth many time of getting my dh a bigger car. His won't hold the 5 of us if something happens to the van, but we just keep not doing so because it means we don't have a car payment!! I love my van and since they don't make it anymore I will drive it until I can't anymore.

Wow. You guys really rack the miles. I've never had a car more than 100K. The last car I sold around 85K as I was worried it was going to start costing me more on repairs as I'd already had a few biggies. DH had a Ford that died the day it hit 100K. It needed a new transmission and I told him to donate the piece of junk because it had already eaten FOUR transmissions and I wasn't paying for another one at that mileage. My current car, Honda Accord, has 66K. My plan is to drive it until it drops. It's been paid off for a year now with no problems. AND - here is the best part - my drive to work has changed from 27 miles each way to 3. So the mileage is really going much slower now. DH will have his Accord paid off in September. I think he has around 50K. Of course, I'm in Detroit, and it's pretty common to replace your car every 3-4 years with a new one because most everyone gets a discount via a family member who works for one of the big 3. We are rarities here in that we actually bought our cars instead of just getting 2-3 year leases to continually roll into another new car.

My car has 103,000 and hubby's truck has 117,000. I had been paying to have my filters changed and all of that at a garage when I was a teenager, and hubby checked it one day about 3 years ago and said that they had never been changed before. So we do all our own mechanic work now. I'm not going to pay someone to SAY that they did something and then later find out it never happened. I think that probably happens a lot more than people realize.
We've never had any problems with them, but we are really easy on them, too.

We have a 2000 Honda Civic. Purchased it in 2003 with 36k on it, we now have 190k on it - but DH drives it for work, so he puts WAY more miles on a car than the average person.
That is why we were determined to buy Honda. The Kia we had previously broke down every other month, and was on it's last legs by 100k. In fact, when we bought our Civic EVERYONE at the dealership had to come see for themselves that a Kia made it past 100k, no one believed it. Everyone referred to Kias as 'disposable cars' there!

My MIL sent us a news report from central florida that proved this to be true - they marked the filter before they installed it, and installed hidden cameras on the vehicles, and no work was done.

One of my last cars i was driving was a Mercedez Benz 1979 240D (It was standard and diesel, but it ran very slow.... the ironny is that i got my fist speeding ticket in this "slow" car...
Well... before i sold it that old Mercedez 1979 had 550,000 miles on it!!!!!
Well, now the car i have doesn't have nearly as many miles... it's a BMW 1995 3.25I with around 120,000 miles in it.
