My '01 Pontiac Grand AM has about 103K. I has had 2 major tune ups. The only issue now is that the service engine light is on...only because the stupid temp gauge doesnt work. But its still running fine. No leaking, smells...

Its all paid for and Ill drive it until it dies. ha ha. I agree if you regularly maintain the engine and stuff - it will last a long time. I think about that when I see real old cars, like from the 70's & 80's still zooming around.

We have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier that we inherited in 2005 with only 23k in miles. It was my dh's Grandfather's 2nd car that he only drove around town and sat still for 3+ years while he was in and out of the hospital.

Our mileage now is approaching 70k, so in 3 years we have put on 47k miles (ave 15k mi/year). This is our only car, and my dh has had to drive more than 80mi/day for work this entire time. This year I guarantee we will probably approach 20k in one year as we will be adding a drive to WI which will add on an extra 5k in 2 weeks!

We are very blessed to have this vehical.. we have only had to replace the battery, alternator, a sensor hose, tires, & brakes.
