Well shoot. I just read my kid's favorite Ranch label and it has MSG. I always read ingredients lists for hydrogenated oils, but for some reason I hadn't thought to check for that. They won't eat my fabulous homemade Ranch (kids!). Maybe I can find an organic one they'll eat. Back to the drawing board. Its the only type of salad dressing they will even try. But at least they eat salad!

Surely nobody here thought ranch dressing was GOOD for you!?!?!

Never thought it was really good for you, but still I was shocked to find MSG in it.

Just like I was shocked to find that they put aspartame in children's medications!!!!!

Good thing I am a label reading Mama :D.

Wisk together and refrigerate
thanks for the recipe. I'm going to give it a whirl.

Clueless Woman Here- But isen't MSG in alot of stuff?

I Know its Not good For You ...

Oh And I did Know Ranch was one of the most unhealthy Dressings Out there.

I Thought that because of the fat and Calories though. Those are the reasons We Stay away from it.

I just bought T. Marzetti brand ranch dressing and it has no preservatives in it (no hydrogenated oils either). It was really tasty too. I found it in the refridgerator section by the produce in Wegman's.

lucky for us, we HATE ranch dressing here!

i only buy dressings that are clear for some odd reason (taste i guess).

i like newmans own...because i can pronounce everything in there. if anyone has any bad reports about them, let me know! my kids LOVE their rasberry walnut dressing!

What about the ranch packet mix that you add mayo and milk to? Is that just as bad? I usually make that one.

I was just going to post a recipe. It is hard to buy anything these days without getting something harmful or not knowing what is in what we are eating. So I make my own, ranch and vinagerette dressings. I put them in old cleaned out wine bottles in the fridge.
