I was just curious as to how other people clean?

For awhile there I would do a thorough cheaning once a week and now a do a room a day. I do however vacuum and straighten up a few times a day.

I keep things picked up daily, make beds, vacumn, and a little laundry daily. I mop when needed in kit and dining (which is just about every day around here!! The kitchen is constantly being cleaned throughout the day - it has already been cleaned once!!

Mondays I change sheets, deep clean bathrooms, baseboards, etc.

I am less stressed and happy in a clean and uncluttered home!!

We have stopped wearing shoes in the house - even "clean" ones, and it has really helped with dust!!

The kids have to put their clothes in the hamper and pick up toys before going to bed. (I am not mean though - I do let them keep out a lego thing they are building or something like that!)

I do everything throughout the week as needed, and leave saturday mornings for catch up.

I keep things straightened up all week. I sweep/mop through out the week if needed. Clean bathrooms if needed. Then on Friday or Saturday I do a major clean of the bathrooms and a sweep, mom and vacuum. I think once LeAnne is crawling I will have to sweep, mop and vacuum daily. Oh while i am not working I do laundry a few times a week but when I am working I do it on Saturday's.

I follow a routine that I set up using FLYlady's directions for a cleaning journal. I have a morning, an afternoon, and a before bed routine. My life is so much easier when I have everything wrote down. I usually have the routines done early, like the afternoon routine done in the morning, but I always check to make sure it's done. This saves money too, as supper is always done and ready to eat on time.

Morning routine:
laundry
quick clean bathrooms
empty dishwasher and wash stray dishes
check calendar
supper prep or in crockpot
kitchen swept (mopped if needed)
living room straightened (vacuum if needed)

Afternoon:
start supper
set table
pull tomorrow's supper from freezer
layout older DDs school clothes for next day

Before bed:
Wash supper pots/pans
Start dishwasher
Wipe table / countertops
start a load of diapers
straighten living room / toy pick-up
make DH and DD's lunches

One day a week I do a thorough cleaning with trash emptying, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, deep cleaning of the bathrooms and a bedding change/wash.

I do laundry every morning. One or two loads usually. I've been challenging myself not to use the dryer, and I don't have an outdoor clothesline yet, so I hang everything on a drying rack and hangers inside. It's actually fun and I only run the dryer about three times a week when jeans or hoody sweatshirts don't dry overnight, and to fluff diapers. The dryer only runs 5 minutes for those items and I hang the clothes back up and put the diapers away. It softens the stiff jeans a bit too.

I spend 15 minutes a day decluttering. I just choose a spot and start tossing. It might be a drawer or it might be a closet or a whole room. It's really made a big difference around here though.

I do FLYlady's 27-fling boogy every day as well, in a different spot than my declutter area. It's where you throw out 27 things. It can be donated or tossed, but 27 things leave your house. I find I always go over the 27 amount. LOL

I also spend 15 minutes per day working in one room. If it's the bathroom, I may clean under the sink or clean the top shelf of the linen closet..etc.

I usually do the 30 minutes of decluttering and cleaning while DD takes her nap in the afternoon.

Saturdays and Sundays aren't really structured. If I'm home all day, then I just follow the routines, if we are out and about, then I just do laundry and dishes and call it good until Monday.

I can't stand a dirty kitchen so that gets cleaned everyday.
I mop/vacuum once a week and sweep every few days.
I do a thorough cleaning of the bathrooms once a week and wipe down as needed.
Laundry is done once a week.
Beds are made everyday and sheets get changed once a week.
I dust as needed.
I try to do a little each day during the week so weekends are free for more fun stuff.

I clean everyday, I can't stand a messy house. I do what ever needs to be done daily and the on Fridays I do the major cleaning, that a way Sat and Sun is free to spend with the family and enjoy other activities.

I have a list for the week. I feel better with it all written out, it keeps me accountable and I like to cross things off. My house is clean, but it is lived in. I have two toddlers and if I kept it spotless, I would have to follow them around all day with a rag and a trash bag. A lot of my cleaning has to be done while they are napping or in bed because sometimes they are just a little too much help.

LOL, that's me! It's not possible to have it spotless when you have little ones running around, and i also try to do my stuff when they are sleeping/napping.
