I follow a routine that I set up using FLYlady's directions for a cleaning journal. I have a morning, an afternoon, and a before bed routine. My life is so much easier when I have everything wrote down. I usually have the routines done early, like the afternoon routine done in the morning, but I always check to make sure it's done. This saves money too, as supper is always done and ready to eat on time.
Morning routine:
laundry
quick clean bathrooms
empty dishwasher and wash stray dishes
check calendar
supper prep or in crockpot
kitchen swept (mopped if needed)
living room straightened (vacuum if needed)
Afternoon:
start supper
set table
pull tomorrow's supper from freezer
layout older DDs school clothes for next day
Before bed:
Wash supper pots/pans
Start dishwasher
Wipe table / countertops
start a load of diapers
straighten living room / toy pick-up
make DH and DD's lunches
One day a week I do a thorough cleaning with trash emptying, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, deep cleaning of the bathrooms and a bedding change/wash.
I do laundry every morning. One or two loads usually. I've been challenging myself not to use the dryer, and I don't have an outdoor clothesline yet, so I hang everything on a drying rack and hangers inside. It's actually fun and I only run the dryer about three times a week when jeans or hoody sweatshirts don't dry overnight, and to fluff diapers. The dryer only runs 5 minutes for those items and I hang the clothes back up and put the diapers away. It softens the stiff jeans a bit too.
I spend 15 minutes a day decluttering. I just choose a spot and start tossing. It might be a drawer or it might be a closet or a whole room. It's really made a big difference around here though.
I do FLYlady's 27-fling boogy every day as well, in a different spot than my declutter area. It's where you throw out 27 things. It can be donated or tossed, but 27 things leave your house. I find I always go over the 27 amount. LOL
I also spend 15 minutes per day working in one room. If it's the bathroom, I may clean under the sink or clean the top shelf of the linen closet..etc.
I usually do the 30 minutes of decluttering and cleaning while DD takes her nap in the afternoon.
Saturdays and Sundays aren't really structured. If I'm home all day, then I just follow the routines, if we are out and about, then I just do laundry and dishes and call it good until Monday.
