I'm trying to be better about going green..I've decided to drastically reduce the amount of freebies I put in for in the freebies section. I used to try to get everything, but lately I've noticed that the item and all that packing material adds up, does anyone else do this? I'm trying to only apply for things I really want/need.

I have never gotten into this freebie thing for this reason -- that and I already have too much clutter. My husband is another story! Thankfully I've never told him about all the freebies on MommySavers -- he'd be signing up for an account today! His big thing is Free Magazines. And I really struggle with this one but need to remember to pick my battles (I have to save my energy for the lawn chemical battle that we have every spring) and I just recycle those that he brings in or try to pass them alone to others who will read them.

I also only get the freebies that I will use. I like when they send them out in the normal envelopes and cardboard boxes because at least you can recycle them.
I dislike the padded envelopes, there are times when you can't reuse them and they normally end up in the garbage.

I used to sign up for just about anything and everything, but yeah...the packaging that can't be re-used, or recycled, can be very overbearing and create clutter. Now I only sign up for things that either I've used before and know I will use the sample of, or foods, etc. that I've been wanting to try. Foods, soaps, and especially free detergents...I just can't pass those up!!

I used to sign up for everything as well, but now I am cutting back to the things that I truly think i would use and appreciate. It also helps the company as well I believe!
