We are going to start something new in the Simple Living forum. We will do a Monthly Simple Living Focus. Each month I will post a challenge or Simple Living topic we can focus on. My challenges are going to be completely voluntary and if we are focusing on something that you don't think would help simplify your life, you don't have to do it. You can take a break for that month, or come up with something else. I will try throughout the coming months to have something for everyone. If you have any ideas feel free to pm me!

For the month of April we will be working together with Kim in her Forget The Jones Project. She is starting the Decluttering Phase in the program. Even if you haven't done the other steps (and I encourage everyone to look at them when you can) we can all do this phase together.

NEW! First PURGE Step! Step #31: Create a Vision

Step #32: Plan Your Piles

Step #33: Create Room for What You Want in Life

Step #34: Think about why you hang onto things

Step #35: Get it Done!

Step #36: Organize

Be sure to check both forums for the next steps and decluttering information!

Count me in on this one. I've been doing a room at a time but it's time to tackle the playroom and the garage. YIKES!!!!!

I have discovered the only way to really do this is to take everything out of the room, cabinet, etc and only put back in what we use and LOVE. I have been dicluttering for months now and it doesn't seem like I have gotten anywhere. I took everything out of the girls room beds included and only put back in what they use and the room looks great.

By the way the only reason we took the beds out is we finally got them matching beds that are more than just frames.

this is exactly what I wanted to do this month...I am just felling extremely overwhelmed.

I guess I should start with one room and get it done...

My vision is that the only thing I have in "storage" is seasonal things. When I have to move again (my landlord is letting my home go into forclosure), I don't want to move so much stuff I have been moving for a long time which I don't use.

My hubby is wanting to move from Ohio to Florida in about 6 months to be closer to his parents, so DD could actually see her grandparents. I don't want to have to move all the junk that we have already moved 2 times in the last 4 years! We already decluttered a bunch from the basement, but there is so much more I want to get rid of... now just have to get hubby on board....

Yay! Im looking foward to this! I dont have a ton of closet space in my house so we really need to get serious about what we are hanging on to and why. I just cleaned out my closet and made some really tough decisions but I feel good about it.
