I don't know if we got the full affect of Earth Hour. We had just returned home from a long day of driving / flying and not a lot of sleep. We were all pretty much asleep by 8:30!

But we did have the lights out at 8 p.m. -- my daughter even put her p.j.'s in in the dark - though we briefly had to turn them on to find Blanket! Of course my daughter turned the lights out as I was coming down the stairs -- I missed the last step and about broke my neck! Thankfully I didn't. And then we read in the dark with our little reading lamps. It was a lot of fun -- even my husband got into it!

But like I said, we were all so tired that we were asleep pretty quickly!

We did end up keeping the tv on, but only because my sil stopped by and honestly the idea of sitting in the dark with no noise did not appeal to me (with her here). I only had to turn on the light for a moment because she wanted to borrow a tsp of baking powder and I could not find in the cupboard The boys think we should try it again sometime

We did leave the tv on and I had to turn on the bathroom light for Bob to go potty a couple times, but all in all it was fine. I do think this is something we could do at least once a week. Today Bob has been asking to turn the lights out, lol.

I didn't get to participate but I think this is something I'd like to try to do often when I get my own house (I live with my parents right now) I think that maybe it';ll help all of us be a little more conscious of the energy that we waste daily.
