Well, so far, I just finished Chapter 2 of "It's All Too Much" and I have to say, this book really hits home. I even read the Preface and Introduction - I NEVER do that!

What I like is that he really talks about the pyschology of clutter, which I find intriguing and true. It's not a typical self-help book of how to organize your clutter by buying all kinds of storage components (which in essence, now adds to your clutter!), but dwells more on the reasons for your clutter. Maybe it'll touch on the how-to in later chapters. I also like the way it's written, as if Peter is speaking directly to the reader. This is a great way to hold the reader's attention.

For $6.99, I couldn't have found a better value for my buck.

That's great. You know, I was just thinking I could read the book and then have dh read the book, because he is the one who has the hardest time with decluttering, lol.

This book is great! I even paid full price at Borders for mine and it's worth it (but bought with a gift card from Christmas)!

I have done the 15 minutes every day for a week. He sure is right about seeing the difference!

I LOVE that book! I had been doing a "decent" job decluttering, but thanks to him, I was able to let go of a lot of stuff that I never thought I would! He really made me think about it - why am I holding on to this stuff that's so "special" to me, that I store it in a box in the basement and never look at it? Obviously it's not really special, or I'd treat it with more respect. It's really just "stuff" taking up space, contributing to clutter and not allowing me to use the space for things that are important in my life now. Big revelations!

I'm not done yet, but I'm getting there! This book was really life-changing for me!

I thought I was pretty good about getting rid of things, but this book really is helping me get rid of more!

I'm not saying my house is going to be sparse - I like a cozy home with some things in it. But, he's helping me "see" things I really never noticed before. He even mentions this in his book.

The hardest things I'm parting with are the kids toys. They have so many little things that are such a pain to clean. Problem is, I have one boy and one girl, both 2 1/2 years apart so their interests are at different levels. I don't wanna get rid of things my younger son has yet to grow into. So, I'm trying to be fair, but at the same things, get rid of things I KNOW neither has really played with. It's so strange, I go thru their toys every few weeks and always have at least one trash bag full..it never ends! I do get alot of hand-me-downs a few times a year, I guess that would explain alot.
