We finally got a decent day where I could take some of the bigger toys that take up so much space, to the thrift store. This included a big stroller that's just been sitting in our garage. By using ItsDeductible.com, I figured this was a $74 write-off.

Then of course, I couldn't resist the urge to browse! Knowing I only had $10 on me, and knowing also I'm in the process of decluttering, I was very careful not to impulse. I wound up buying my daughter a $3 stuffed kitten and my husband a gorgeous tie for $1.

This one thrift store wouldn't take a big bean-bag kids chair so off to the other thrift store, right around the corner from my house. I offloaded this huge soccerball shaped chair, and browsed here too. For $1.60 I bought a whisk, a video, and 3 books for the kids. What I'm most excited about is that 2 of the books are "My First Words" books that retail for $13 in the bookstore and they're in great condition. I had already bought a similar one at Barnes N Noble, but it was well worth the price because my son loves it. Now to have gotten 2 for only 25 cents each really made my day!

So, for $5.60, I got a nice tax write off, a morning out of the house, and a few little things for each of us. Not a bad morning!

I love the thrift store! The one we have in town only charges 25 cents per item--every item in the store is 25 cents! They have a lot of "junk" though.
