I think this is a good place for this post, but if it isn't, I'm sorry!

This is an Ebay/Decluttering question:

For those of you who are working on decluttering, do you sell your extras on Ebay? What sorts of items have you had success with?

I'm sure you could sell pretty much anything on ebay, lol. My husband sold his entire Nascar collection over the past 2 years. I don't have time and patience for ebay auctions, though. I toss or donate.

I have sold groups of romance books- ie Nora Roberts, groups of women's clothes and shoes and older toys like old oscar the grouch dolls. I have tried other things like baby clothes, and small appliances and they really haven't sold at all.

Thanks you guys!

BillswifeRebeccasmom - I was actually thinking about selling some small kitchen appliances, but I think I will just donate them, now, thanks!

ChickyHip - I know, I am not sure I have the patience (or the time), either. DH wanted to give it all a try, so I figured why not? Hopefully my time pays off!? Thanks for the response!

Good luck, it doesn't hurt to try. My dh sells and buys on ebay all the time. It's his "thing." lol

I usually try to trade it or sell it here on the bartering board. If it doesnt sell there I usually list it on ebay. If the item is in good shape and listed for a reasonable price it will usually sell.

You could also try craigslist if you are trying to sell small appliances. They usually sell pretty well on there.

We have sold all kinds of different things on ebay. My dh lost his job at the beginning of the year - so we went on a selling craze to try to get some extra money. The worst that could happen is that you list it and it doesn't sell - then you can just donate it. Or it's almost garage sale season - I am putting a bunch of stuff that wouldn't (or didn't) sell on ebay into my garage sale pile. I know that doesn't help much if you are trying to declutter right now!!

I used to be very excited about selling on ebay, but the thrill wore off after I realized how much time and energy it takes to post a listing . . . only to have any profits made eaten up by ebay and paypal fees. Now, I just list on Craigslist. It's free and easy.
