Has anyone had a problem when trying to either use their green bags or to recycle something?

I just went to Walmart quite aware of walmart having their own canvas bags, I of course brought my own and had the rudest person on earth bag my groceries. She smacked her lips, rolled her eyes and slammed our food into the bags, shaking her head like it was such a hassle to put it into our green bags vs. the plastic...it's still putting it into a BAG! And I even told my daughter Lea, look see this is Walmart's version...pointing to theirs. She was so rude I almost asked for the manager until I noticed her badge...she WAS the manager! Ugh, I nearly said something but I didn't. It was just ridiculous that she would act like that.

Has anyone else had this???

I don't shop at walmart but whatever I USED to I got that kind of treatment no matter what.
Most people don't say anything when I use my bags except for funny ones when I use a bag from a competitors store.
I would just lodge a complaint to the district manager.

I haven't had any problems other than the occasional, "That's not our store bags" attempt to be funny and those have even died down since a lot more people have started using them. I do suspect it does make a bit more work for the cashier but that is no excuse for her to be so rude to you.

Honestly, this was my biggest impediment to using them in the first place. Fear of this sort of thing! Maybe its silly, but I guess I'm overly sensitive. People have been pretty nice about it so far (once I got brave, that is ) They really are so much nicer to carry. I used them at Wal-mart for the first time Friday. She didn't bat an eye (thank goodness), but I do have a pretty nice wal-mart, as far as Wal-marts go.

If she was the manager, I would've asked for a phone number for her manager. You shouldn't have to deal with that!

I had a Target cashier comment on the bags before. She said they would NEVER not have plastic. Shortly after that, they started selling the red bags. They still have plastic but hopefully not for long.

Although I already had cloth bags, I have been purchasing the .99 green bags from the grocery store because they are easier to load. I almost have enough for a full trip.

I wondered about this too. I just starting bought my first bag. Do you think that retailers will eventually do away with their bags? Or if you don't bring your own charge you like Aldi's? I think that would be great.

I've been bringing my own canvas grocery bags to the store for about 16 years now. I've never had a problem except the occasional bagger who was zoned out & tried bagging my bags. Once I point "I brought my own bags", it was a non-issue. I've been going to the same grocer now for 7 years, they know me, and it's never been an issue there either. I would have asked that WalMart manager what her problem was.

I bought mine from the grocery store too, it looked so much bigger than the ones Walmart has. I think I'll buy one of theirs today just to see, I have to go in for some more stuff. I hope shes not there!!!

I think the problem at Wal-Mart is, AND NO I AM NOT TAKING HER SIDE THAT WAS VERY RUDE AND SHE SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO TREAT A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT, there is no place to put the bags on their turn tables. The tables weren't very well thought out so it is hard for them. To keep them nice and not upset at me I help them bag my stuff. It is easier for me and I don't get broken things. I also give them a double wammy since I use coupons too!!

Just keep smiling at them because you never know what someone is going through.

I bought one of theirs today, its the same size as the other ones. I didn't have a problem with today's cashier. I know its hard for them, their isn't a place for them to do it. My sister is a cashier in Walmart as her second job. I haven't talked to her about what she does, she lives in Colorado. I did notice that they have a little flip out part on the customer side, its a black leaf you can pull out to possibly bag it yourself, but this woman was so rude, she probably would've huffed and puffed at that too!!
