I was reading that at the current decline, bees will be non existant in 2035, NOT GOOD! especially since so many of our crops depend on bees

So if you are planting a garden this year, or even can do a little in containers, something small plant it!!

Bees like lavendar, black eyed susan, sunflowers

I read that companies, Burt's Bees is going on tour in the US to educate people on this issue, and Haggan Daz has taken up with them too

Plant some flowers!!!

You are so correct Bananabellsmom -- bees are so important and I don't think our society, as a whole, really understands that.

This made me laugh....did you mean "bees" are so important instead of people? Although I agree people are important too
And yes, I completely agree that bees are very important, this issue has not received a lot of attention...I just read about it on the sierra website.

I agree, you barely ever hear about this problem.

I haven't really seen any honey bees yet this year, just big bumble bees. I know this probably sounds stupid, but are they as important as regular bees? I don't know much about it, sorry...

I am ignorant, I admit. Bees are pollinators, going from plant and field to others. If bees are declining in number, how does growing something help?
