This is one of my biggest pet peeves and it is a problem that could and should be taken care of and yet 40% of the world's population doesn't have clean drinking water!

That is scary! Exspecially when it is put in perspective! yikes! I know there is organizations like Operation Blessing that go to places that have no running water and gives them all water-ma-jigs. Clean water ma-jigs at that.

I don't want to pee in anyones water, (haha!) but none of this should be surprising.

As the article states, our water supply never changes, therefore it is not a renewable source. All the water we have now on earth is the same water we have had since the beginning of time. Locations just shift through evaporation, rain and climate change. Sadly, as we continue to over populate our planet, and strive to keep up with providing for everyone on the planet, our water supply is taking a major hit. Water filtration is necessary to our survival however we are finding it more and more difficult to filter out so much that has gotten into our water supply that it is no wonder 3rd world countries are succombing to so many problems and how long does one think it will be only a poor country problem. Everything you drink has water in it.

One more thing to think about......or not think about depending on how easily you get grossed out, but did you know that the delicious glass of water you just drank from the tap, or from the bottle purchased at your favorite store, is the same water that the dinosaurs also peed and pooped in? Now there is something to choke on with your next swallow of coffee!!!!!

How do you sleep at night? If I overthought everything like that, I'd never go to sleep

I think clean running water in the house is the greatest invention of all after maybe fire. And not just because I don't care for outhouses. Just turning a tap to clean up makes me feel so lucky!

I wish that helping people around the world to get such necessities wasn't so political.

I have read that the single most important concept in the process of pulling the really destitute toward prosperity is property rights. The ability to keep the results of your efforts, to own your own hut and a plot of land. Much of the world is living under dictatorships and regimes taking the resources and donations for the powerful.
