Any good ideas/suggestions for a "green" carpet powder -- to help any smells??? I was thinking now that we have a puppy, it might be good to do a really good cleaning of the carpets once a week - nice & fresh.

I don't have a powder suggestion other than using baking soda.

I have a steam cleaner and use vinegar instead of the commercial cleaner. I have a Brittany Spaniel.

I have seen where people mix scented oils with their baking soda. Sprinkle it on the carpet and vacuum.

If you rent or buy a steam cleaner you can just use steam to clean the floors, with no cleaner at all.
