My favorite thing is not watching t.v. and not even knowing what t.v. shows are currently playing. I have completely removed myself from t.v. culture and I LOVE it!!!!

I hate to think of the time I wasted in the past not wanting to miss an episode of whatever shows were my favorite at the time. And no more insidious commercials ads...another great benefit. :-)

Somehow, I sleep so much better at night....

Must be attributed to a feeling of contentment that comes with living simply, I suppose....

Not feeling the rush of life around me, it feels good to slow down when everyone I know is rushing through life, always on the go and missing out on the small things.

Homemade foods. For me cooking and baking is very methodical, relaxing and satisfying. The simplist meal can be delicious when it is made with thought.

The knowledge that whatever comes our way economically, we'll be okay. We are resourceful and creative.

My "simple life" could use some work to be simpler, but what there are still benefits I see all the time.
I appreciate our very limited tv (we get only pbs right now, and even when we get an antenna we'll only get local programming) and radio is the reduction in noise. Like slpmomof4 said, no commercials and the free time are well worth it!
And the reduction in trash. Recycling and reusing and conserving means that we have about 1/3 of the trash we used to, maybe less. We need to get back to this more, tho... since we moved we've been living more for convenience.

All of these things are good -- except right now my life isn't really that simple. But that is OK, I'll get it back to normal one of these days!
