We do at our house. All the paper board goes one place, the plastics are checked for the recycle symbol, cans and bottles are sorted and stored in the basement until I haul it away. our fall downs are just plain paper and my kids still sometimes throw away things like empty yogurt containers.

Everything gets doubled checked and if the kids are unsure on an item they put it on the counter for me to double check it.

I always check. I'll pull something out of the trash if its recyclable. The rest of the family isn't so diligent.

We're a work in progress. Our dump doesn't have a huge recycling center (no plastics). But as our property taxes on the county dump are almost going to double this year because they are supposed to come up with the equipment to recycle plastic to recycle some plastics. I need a better system.

Yes. We recycle everything we can, and I no longer buy products packaged in plastic when they could/should be in aluminum or glass. There's no reason to be filling the landfills with this stuff.

Well, I know I dont do near enough. I am moving this week (yay) and I plan to crack down on our garbage! I am definitely going to feed all organic waste to the pig next door ( friend of the family). I recycle all aluminum but want to start on plastic now that they recycle that in the next town over and I also want to start recycling my tin...

We pay for trash pick-up but our city offers free recycling so we recycle everything we possibly can.

Absolutely. We are very mindful of what we throw away/recycle. Anything that could possibly be reused is, and when I shop, I'm very mindful of items with little packaging.

My one downfall? We don't compost. I plan to change that very soon.
