You don't have clutter in your sock drawer, right? Ok- come along with me and we'll see what's in mine. Hmm....

Here are the red, green and white argyle socks my college roommate gave me for Christmas our senior year... 1989 (yeah, so I'm old- and so are these socks)

And here's a fine pair of tan socks- the elastic is kind of shot so they always sag, which drives me nuts, so I never wear them but keep them because I don't have a lot of tan socks. Great logic there, Jenn

Oh- and here is a pair of green socks in a funny shade of green that I bought to match a pair of pants in the same funny shade of green. The pants I never liked and no longer have, so I'm SO glad I'm holding on to these socks...

And there is more, you get the idea.

Go now to your own sock drawer and take out five of these "past their prime" pairs of socks. This should take under five minutes, and if you have a pair of socks older than 1989, I want to hear about it!

When I cleaned out my sock drawer last month. I found a pair of bright yellow fishnets from high school.

My sock drawer has four pair of white ankle socks, and a few pair of black trouser socks. Plus, my stockings for church. That is it!!

I HATE sorting socks, so I bought those lingerie bags for $1 each, and we hung 8 of them on the laundry room wall...and when we fold clothes, if there is not a pair, we put the oddballs in the right person's bag. Then, once a week, everyone sorts their socks out of their bag. It has been a HUGE help...and we have been doing it for two years now.

That is a really good tip. I am going to try that when everyone goes back to school!
