I've been thinking of joining a church lately, mainly for my children. I was a very active member of my church growing up, however some things went into play that made me stop going as a teen(another post, please). My dh doesn't really want anything to do with a church. He belives in the "big bang theory" and what not. That we are all just here, evolved from an speck somehow... I frankly don't know what I believe. I've always been very scientific, so that tells me we evolved, but my upbringing tells me otherwise...... Either way, the church taught me right from wrong when I was a child. I want that positive atmosphere for my childrend and my family.

Has anyone gone through this??? Iv'e been afraid of my dh's reaction if I try to take them to church, so I really haven't brought it up yet... Any ideas on how to approach the subject???

Instead of taking them to church first, go to a social event at a church; a strawberry social, rummage sale, etc. It's more relaxed. you can meet some people, meet with the pastor, hear about some of the programs. It's a simpler transition

If you have friends who attend church regularly try their church first or try a church you already have in mind. That worked for us.
