Update on my ten year old niece, Ashley

She is doing GREAT!! She is taking her meds everyday, and they are kicking in! She tried out for the school choir...ON HER OWN!!!!  AND, she MADE IT! She was so excited that she called me from my mom's cell phone to tell her oh so worried Aunt J! And, she did a speech in front of her class with a book report..and although she said she was quaking inside, she DID IT!!! Then, Friday night, my sister comes home to find Ashley on the phone and she had iniated a group of girls going to a gymnastic group playtime on Saturday night. ASHLEY was the organizer...and she wouldn't even tag along before now!! She really likes her psychiatrist, and from what they can tell, she is really good. Ashley thought it weird at first that they put a little monitor on her finger to monitor her heartrate (they do this to see how fast it is racing for certain questions, situations, to see how she is feeling on the INSIDE that she may be hiding from them on the outside). She said last week, she and the psychiatrist laid in the floor on their stomachs and played dominos while they talked!
She sees her again today, and Ashley will also see the specialist who will start the testing on finding out just what link is missing to be causing these problems (a new thing for people with severe depression..it helps the meds work better to know exactly what to aim for). Thanks for all the prayers..and keep them coming. I've told her I have people all over the world praying for her...and instead of crying, now she GRINS!!!:D
