having one close friend at a time?? Or having a group of friends that you are equally as close to??

This came up with a friend of mine, and I thought it was interesting. I like being in groups, but it is also nice to have one on one time with friends to get to know them a little bit better. So, I guess for me it is a little of both, but it gets hard sometimes finding time for everyone that I would like to spend time with if we are not in a group, KWIM?

What situation makes you the most comfortable??

I am more comfortable in smaller groups of friends. I've always had 1-2 good friends, and then a bunch of people I would call aquaintances.

This is me. I don't like large groups.

I have 2 really, really, really good friends that we can share anything to each other and then I have 2 other really good friends that we just talk about everday things nothing extra personal. Then there are the ones that are acquaintances. I like to keep smaller groups for different situations.

Do CREATIVE minds think alike?

I have found, in the past that smaller groups of people are fun and more intimate but then things always go awry. I think it's because I am surrounded by transient people as I go through life. So I have had a hard time really TRUSTING smaller groups of people. I am social. I have fun. But not too many people know a lot of personal details about me. I am guarded in that sense.

I like larger groups because I like to socialize and get to know a vast array of people and their experiences. MS is great for that. With 30,000 members and growing, you can find a new acquaintance every day...and hear a different story too.

I have TWO close friends whom I confide in with just about everything going on in my life, but unfortunately we don't have any face to face time! One of my friends lives in Canada with her family and the other one is someone I grew to know and love and trust online. These two people probably know the most about me because they themselves also confided in me. But I don't do that with too many other people.

I would say 3-4 that I am really close to. I do have "close" friends, "just" friends, and then aquaintances but overall only 3-4 that I could tell anything too, spend all day with, and be comfortable when they pop over and I am in my jammies.

What I find is that my "close" friends are all spread out. They are all in different "groups" of friends, so we aren't all "close" together. Does that make sense?? There is one here in our new area, one where I used to live, one I am related to, and one here online. Some know each other, but that's it.

I always wanted to have a small group that all were close together and would do anything for the others (a la Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). But I haven't found that yet Maybe someday!

I could have written that!!! I have 2 or 3 people close to me that I can confide in at any given moment but my preference is larger groups because of trust issues....Building trust with me takes a long time.

I agree. I prefer having those few GREAT friends that I know "have my back" for anything and then have the handful of acquaintances.
