I am a Sunday school teacher for a small group of women (we are all between 30 & 40) at our church. It is a very small group and we are looking for a new study to begin doing. I am looking for suggestions for a bible study for this group. Any suggestions?
TIA

Depending on the ages of your children, Guilt-free Motherhood by Dr. Julianna Slattery is wonderful! It would be best for moms whose children are on the younger side I would think.

I've also done Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs. That study was nice because you looked at very different Bible characters and tried to think from their perspective in a way.

I've just started Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver at my women's Bible study. So far that seems good, too, but I've only read the first chapter.

Hope that helps!

I agree - "Bad Girls of the Bible" is good. "Very Bad Girls of the Bible" (which my women's bible study just did this last summer) is EVEN BETTER!

Another good book is "The Lies Women Believe, and the Truth that Sets them Free." Sorry, I can't remember who wrote it.

I was going to suggest these very same ones!! The Lies Women believe is a really good read and makes for good discussion. Its by Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

The Liz Curtis Higgs studies (Bad Girls. . . and others) are also really good,

HTH!!

Funny , I was going to recommend Lies Women Believe, too. My only hesitation in doing so was that all of us in our group weren't always in agreement with the author. Which is okay. The author is only human, too, and is writing from her point of view.

Just as a heads up, the major thing that many of us didn't agree with was her stand on birth control. She believes that Christian women shouldn't use birth control. Our group pretty much agreed to disagree with her. It's certainly thought provoking and was good for discussion. That said, the author has many, many wonderful things to say that were helpful and interesting and true. The study really challenged me spiritually and I grew from it.

Have you done a Beth Moore study? Also Kay Arthur does the(Precept) in depth Bible study that all would enjoy. It's o.k. to disagree with an author. I don't agree with all of them either. It's great that all of you agreed to disagree, and went ahead with the study. We learn much from someone elses perspective!!! There are so many other studies depending on what your group is interested in at this time. Go to www.cbd.com (Christian book) they have tons of Bible studies at reasonable prices, you could get some good ideas there. Hope this helps.
